We must plant a tree in our imagination
I went with Xochi to the Jardin de las Esculturas — the sculpture garden – to see a project that her school participated in. They made the many clay tiles that comprise the trunk and leaves of a wall-mounted tree.
Beautiful garden! Not exactly wild, but it has a wild feel. Wandering about, you come across a sculpture and sometimes feel like you have wandered into a clearing in the jungle and stumbled upon a wondrous and ancient ruin.
I saw some guys working…with machetes and other hand tools. I really doubt if this garden has ever seen a gas-powered leaf blower or a riding lawn mower.
