Marie’s 91st Birthday Bash

Eleven of us got together at Sammy and Marie’s new digs to celebrate her 91st birthday. Sammy and Marie, Davey, Vera, Nina, Paco, Mendala, Tony, Sara, me and Camille.

Gathered in their cool rooms, lunch in a private room off the main dining room, cake. It was terrific.

It was Veteran’s Day, and lunch was followed by an event honoring resident veterans. With Congressman Xavier Becerra and a general. Sammy’s Purple Heart was a big hit. Marie spoke eloquently, telling Sam’s wartime story, and ending with the hope that our youth would not have to repeat the experience. Marie is terrific!
