May 2017
Stephen from my WordPress meetup, has just moved to Pasadena and doesn’t yet know much about it. I wanted to share a couple of my favorite attractions in his new backyard.
We started with The Huntington – library, art galleries, and some of my favorite gardens. Especially the desert garden with its magnificent Mexican barrel cacti, the bamboo grove, and the Japanese garden with its great bonsai collection.
And the 1455 Gutenberg Bible, one of the 48 known survivors from the original edition of approximately 175. On vellum. Beautiful and iconic, especially for web techs like us. The first major work produced with movable type. You could say that was the start of the “information age.”
